Christmas Candles
One of the most well known symbols of the Christmas holiday season are those of Christmas candles. Churches, town halls and various other places, even peoples homes all bring out the candles during this festive season. Christmas candles have been apart of the celebration for centuries. However, their roots go far back to pagan cultures. The Greeks and the Romans used candles to honor their Gods and Goddesses. Many of these celebrations took place in mid to late December as well. The Scandinavia countries have long used candles during the winter months and parts of their light festival. It was a way of bringing light to the long, dark days of winter.
Christmas Candles are used for a variety of reason. Many associate the light with the light of Christ. Some use them as a symbol of warmth and nature, while others burn Christmas candles just because they like them and their warm cozy glow.
For today’s world there are Christmas Candles to suit all types. For those that are to busy to light their own candles there are those that are battery powered and complete with a timer. This saves time and can be a good safety feature. For those that want to save the planet, there are solar powered Christmas candles. These use the Earth natural light to power the candle. There are also Christmas tree candles. However by law these now have to be electric rather than natural. The reasons should be fairly obvious.
For those that would love to place Christmas candles in their windows but are concerned about safety, they come in battery form. This light up the window with a warm glow without the worry of fire or burns.
